A farmhouse inn is an invitation to immerse yourself in the land. It's not a classic restaurant, but a place where you can eat local, farmhouse and seasonal produce.

Marie-Jeanne and Georges Grisanti are a farming couple with deep roots in the Castagniccia region. When the summer season draws to a close at the San Bertuli d'Orezza sheepfold, Georges and Marie-Jeanne Grisanti gather at the village house in Casabianca, which they have converted into a farmhouse inn. A wooden sign points the way to Santa Cristi, which aims to offer a "Cum'e in casa" welcome. Its authentic Corsican cuisine and mountain setting have earned it a place in the Routard guide 2023-2024-2025.

The entire menu is based on farm products from their own farms: Cabri, pork, mature cheese, chestnuts....

Open weekends from November to June

The farm inn is open every weekend from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. There is a choice of two menus, announced each week on their Facebook page.

Breeders and producers, Georges and Marie-Jeanne wanted to open this farm inn to showcase the products of their farm, including their cheese and charcuterie, while bringing a little life to the village out of season, in the heart of Castagniccia between the villages of La Porta, Ghjucatoghju and Poghju Marinacciu.

The farmhouse inn, located at the bottom of the village of Casabianca in the hamlet of Quercettu, can seat up to 30 guests, and is also open to works councils.

In the heart of the Castagniccia region, the Grisanti family has perpetuated pastoral life from generation to generation, raising sheep and pigs. After 45 years of work, Georges and Marie-Jeanne continue to do what they've always done, through their Santa Cristi restaurant, and with the help of their sons who have taken up the family torch:

Laurent, who owns the pig farm and produces the charcuterie they sell in season at the San Bertuli d'Orezza sheepfold, and in winter at the Santa Cristi farm inn in Casabianca. Jean-Philippe, for his part, raises goats and produces Corsican cheese and brocciu as he learned to do.

Farm products cooked to family recipes by Georges and Marie-Jeanne, which you'll enjoy in the nustral atmosphere of this typically Corsican village house.

The owners are farmers, raising pigs and goats, and some of the products served come directly from their farms: farmhouse charcuterie, Corsican cheeses and brocciu. The farm inn operates on the traditional principle of breeding, processing, cooking and serving on site.

The cuisine is entirely traditional Corsican, with emblematic dishes such as: - figatellu and pulenta - cabri in sauce or baked - tripettes with beans - veal with olives, - squid stuffed with brocciu - pasta with brocciu - migliacci, cheese fritters - torta paesana or homemade tarts. Menus vary according to season and produce available at the farm.

The Santa Cristi farmhouse inn is open mainly outside the tourist season, when the Orezza sheepfold is closed. It is generally open: Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime (including Saturday lunchtime and evening).

Yes, reservations are strongly recommended. The dining room has a limited capacity (around 30 covers). In order to maintain a family atmosphere and optimum service quality, menus are prepared in advance, so booking enables better organization in the kitchen.
