Mano a Mano: lapidary and lithotherapy craftsmen in Balagne
Located in the heart of the Balagne village of Sant-Antonino, opposite the church square, the Mano a Mano workshop is a world dedicated to natural stones, handcrafted jewelry and lithotherapy.
Since 2013, Carole Mallet has been creating unique handcrafted creations from minerals carefully selected in Corsica and around the world for their aesthetic qualities, and their mineral properties in lithotherapy.
Bracelets, necklaces, pendants, rings, earrings, healing stones or energetic objects associated with lithotherapy, take shape in her workshop thanks to meticulous craftsmanship in cutting, shaping and polishing.
A life journey guided by travel and stones
Before devoting herself to natural stones, Carole Mallet worked for almost twenty years in the restoration industry. Between 1995 and 2018, she traveled throughoutAustralia,South America andAsia, experiences that deeply marked her sensitivity to minerals and stone-related cultures.
It was in South America in particular that she developed a strong bond with the world of stones and energy. Having settled in Corsica in 2004, she finally chose the Balagne region to develop her craft business.
After making her debut at craft fairs and markets in 2013, she opened her workshop in 2015 and followed various training courses in lithotherapy and stone-cutting, notably in Toulouse.
Handcrafted jewelry in natural stones from Corsica and around the world
Each piece of jewelry is a handcrafted creation created in the workshop from natural stones shaped and polished by hand. Carole Mallet works with minerals from all over the world, as well as emblematic Corsican stones such as Vert d'Orezza, serpentine and quartz.
Bracelets, pendants, necklaces, rings and earrings are conceived as unique pieces combining aesthetics, craftsmanship and personal sensitivity. According to the traditions of lithotherapy, stones in direct contact with the skin are reputed to diffuse their energy more intensely.

Stones chosen for their properties and symbolism
The minerals used in our workshop are selected not only for their beauty, but also for the symbolism and properties traditionally associated with lithotherapy. Carole prefers "graded" stones, recognized in the world of lithotherapy.
In lithotherapy,amethyst is often associated with soothing, sleep and mental relaxation; rose quartz with emotional gentleness and comfort; and labradorite, appreciated in relational professions.
Deep-blue lapis lazuli is traditionally associated with creativity, imagination and self-expression. Carnelian evokes momentum and confidence. Vert d'Orezza, a Corsican stone close to emerald, is often presented as a stone linked to inner balance and intuition.
Stones such as malachite,obsidian, seraphinite and rhodonite are also sought after for their symbolic links.
Handcrafted stone work
Lapidary requires precision, patience and expertise. Carole uses various specialized machines to shape the stones:
- Grinding wheel with diamond disc for cutting
- Polishing and refining discs
- Diamond drilling machine
- Cutting machine for stone slabs
Water is used during work to avoid overheating the stones and preserve their natural appearance and structure.
Lithotherapy and personalized guidance
The Mano a Mano workshop also offers personalized guidance in the choice of stones according to the sensitivities, emotions or needs required.
Carole often advises choosing a stone intuitively, letting oneself be naturally attracted by its color, shape or the emotion it exudes. In her opinion, certain creations sometimes seem destined for a person even before they meet the jewel's future owner.
According to the principles of lithotherapy, certain stones are associated with particular emotions, states of mind or sensations, and can promote well-being and calm.
