The Village of Speloncato

Overlooking the Reginu Valley at an altitude of 570 meters, Speloncato is a village in Balagne with VHB inhabitants in winter, although it had more than a thousand inhabitants at the beginning of the last century before the Great War. The commune extends from Monte Tolu at 1331 meters, down to the Reginu plain at 49 meters above sea level, bordering the Codole Lake on its western side.
Built on a rocky outcrop, the village is a natural refuge for a large number of Red Kites. Occasionally, one can also spot the Golden Eagle that roams the mountain peaks separating the pièves of Tuani and Giussani.
