The Savonnerie du Nebbiu, located in Patrimonio, produces artisanal soaps, liquid soaps, and natural cosmetics made from vegetable oils and—depending on the recipe—organic essential oils and ingredients inspired by the Corsican maquis, such as immortelle and myrtle. A second Savonnerie du Nebbiu store opened in Lucciana in 2022.
Designed fordaily hygiene—including hand, face, and body washing—these products are available at both of the soap factory's shops as well as online. The line is regularly expanded with new creations focused on skincare and well-being.
La Savonnerie du Nebbiu in Patrimonio

A family-owned business born out of a passion for plants
A former landscape architect with a passion for aromatic plants and the natural world, it was only natural for Laëtitia Straforelli to turn to soap-making when she founded the Savonnerie du Nebbiu in Patrimonio in 2008. From the very beginning, she chose cold-process soapmaking, an artisanal method that preserves the qualities of plant-based oils. Her creations are inspired by the Corsican maquis and highlight ingredients such as immortelle, myrtle, and rockrose.
Over the years, the soap-making business has become a true family venture. Philippe supports Laëtitia in growing the business; Baptiste helps with product manufacturing; Lucie contributes to the brand's business development with Waniss's support; and Christine handles order fulfillment as well as some of the cutting and packaging.
A constantly evolving product line
Originally specializing in bar soaps, Savonnerie du Nebbiu has gradually expanded its lineup to include liquid soaps, shampoos, massage oils, makeup removers, household soaps, and even shaving soaps. Each new product is developed in keeping with the artisanal expertise for which the company is renowned.
Two stores in Haute-Corse
In addition to the historic store in Patrimonio, nestled among the vineyards, a second Savonnerie du Nebbiu store opened in 2022 in Lucciana, on the road to Bastia-Poretta Airport, making it easier for both visitors and locals to explore the entire product line.
The stores also offer a selection of bathroom accessories, including soap dishes, natural sponges, shower puffs, brushes, and pumice stones.
A rapidly expanding workshop
Between 2025 and 2026, Savonnerie du Nebbiu undertook a major expansion of its facilities to expand its production lab, storage areas, store, and offices, thereby supporting the growth of its business.
The Savonnerie du Nebbiu's Traditional Soaps
Artisanal Soap Making in Patrimonio
In its workshop in Patrimonio, Savonnerie du Nebbiu crafts its bar soaps using the cold-process method. Vegetable oils and butters are blended at low temperatures; the soaps are then removed from their molds, cut, and allowed to cure for four to six weeks before being sold.
The Natural and Tradition lines are naturally glycerin-rich and formulated with an 8% superfat content. They are made from plant-based oils and butters, including coconut, sunflower, olive, and shea, to which—depending on the product—fragrances, essential oils, and botanicals associated with Corsican scents are added.
The soap factory uses ingredients such as immortelle, myrtle, rockrose, olive oil, and even sheep's milk in certain creations. Whenever possible, it prioritizes raw materials sourced from Corsica or through short supply chains, while ensuring the traceability of ingredients from other regions.
Natural, the classic everyday line
Natural is Savonnerie du Nebbiu's original line. It includes 100-gram bar soaps as well as several liquid varieties, designed for daily hand and body washing.
The Natural bar soaps are distinguished by their simple and relatively uniform design, centered around a dominant scent or a distinctive blend: immortelle, citron, Laricio pine, orange blossom, myrtle and rockrose, fig and black pepper, or even Patrimoniu.
To add a touch of cheer to your gifts or bring a unique touch to your bathroom, Savonnerie du Nebbiu also offers select soaps from the Natural line cut into various shapes, including the shape of Corsica or a heart.
Tradition: Colorful soaps with embedded plant extracts
The Tradition line uses the same artisanal manufacturing process but features 130-gram soaps with a more refined visual appearance. The marbling, color combinations, and plant elements embedded during the molding process give each bar a unique look.
This line notably combines Corsican scents with flowers, plants, or botanical elements visible within the soap. It includes varieties featuring immortelle, honey, rose, mint, and spirulina, as well as the Patrimoniu soap.
Liquid Soaps and Refills
After completing training in soap-making in 2015, Laëtitia Straforelli developed a line of liquid soaps made primarily from potash, vegetable oils, glycerin, and citric acid. They feature several scents from the Natural line, such as immortelle, citron, myrtle, and rockrose; fig and black pepper; and Patrimoniu.
The liquid soaps are available in various sizes, including 30 ml bottles for the hospitality industry, as well as 100, 250, and 400 ml bottles. The Patrimonio and Lucciana stores also offer refill options that allow customers to reuse the bottles.
Formulated without sulfates, parabens, SLS, or palm oil, these liquid soaps differ from conventional shower gels in that they are made from vegetable oils and potash, leaving no film on the skin. The detailed ingredients vary by product and are listed on the product pages.
Packaging, Refills, and Waste Reduction
Natural soaps come in a recyclable cardboard box. Tradition soaps feature a label and transparent packaging that showcases their marbling and embedded plant extracts. Some bar soaps can also be purchased by the slice, without individual packaging.
For liquid products, refillable options allow customers to reuse the bottles and reduce the need for new packaging. La Savonnerie du Nebbiu also aligns this approach with its membership in the ADNS.
Face, Body, and Hair Care
Soaps and skincare products for the face and body
In addition to its Natural and Tradition lines, Savonnerie du Nebbiu develops a variety of soaps and skincare products for the face and body.
Makeup-Removing Soap
The Savonnerie du Nebbiu makeup-removing soap combines apricot kernel oil, shea butter, and hazelnut oil. It is designed for cleansing the face and removing makeup.
Sea Salt Facial Soap
The sea salt soap is designed for cleansing oily or blemish-prone skin. Its cleansing and gently exfoliating action can be adapted for regular use, depending on skin sensitivity.
Organic Donkey Milk Soap
Donkey milk soap has been valued since ancient times; it is particularly beneficial for dry skin thanks to its rehydrating and restorative properties. It is also recommended for eczema. La Savonnerie du Nebbiu uses certified organic donkey milk for this soap, which is available as a bar soap or liquid soap.
Sheep's Milk Soap
Sheep's milk soap is made from colostrum sourced from a farm near the soap factory in Patrimonio. This first milk, which is naturally rich in protein and not used for cheese production, helps make the most of a resource from the local supply chain.
Shaving soap and shaving products
The shaving soap is designed to produce a lather ideal for shaving. Its formula combines avocado, coconut, and castor oils, shea butter, and white clay. It can be used to prepare the skin for shaving, cleanse the beard, and help the razor glide smoothly.
Shampoos and hair care products
For hair, the line includes a shampoo that can be used on both hair and body, as well as a conditioner with immortelle and sweet almond.
SPA Care Line, Oils, and Black Soaps
Oils for the body, face, and massage
This dry facial oil combines several plant-based oils, including jojoba, hazelnut, grapeseed, evening primrose, and apricot kernel oils, as well as vitamin E. Its texture is designed to nourish the skin without leaving it feeling overly greasy.
Bath salts and bath products
La Savonnerie du Nebbiu also offers bath salts designed for relaxation and body care. Available in various blends and scents, they complement the spa line alongside massage oils and black soaps.
Traditional Black Soaps and Exfoliating Soaps
The skin benefits of traditional black soap are well known. Drawing on Eastern expertise, discover these 100% natural soaps made in Corsica. It is recommended to take a warm shower before lathering up with traditional black soap, leaving it on for 10 minutes, then scrubbing with a Hammam glove, and finally rinsing with lukewarm water.
Also discover the exfoliating black soap, which should be applied to the face after opening the pores with a warm washcloth or by steaming over a pot of hot water while wrapped in a towel.
Home Products and Home Fragrances
Household soap
La Savonnerie du Nebbiu also produces a soap for household cleaning made from scraps left over from the cutting process. Free of glycerin, it can be used to clean various surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom, or on floors.
Home Fragrances Inspired by Corsica and Its Seasons
La Savonnerie du Nebbiu offers several home fragrances inspired by the landscapes, scents, and seasons of Corsica. The first collection features the four seasons, whose names are given in the Corsican language:
- Veranu, spring, with fresh, floral scents;
- Estate, summer, with bright, Mediterranean notes;
- Vaghjime, autumn, with warm tones of amber, cedar, and spices;
- Invernu, winter, with indulgent notes of cookie, vanilla, caramel, and coconut.
A second collection draws inspiration from the natural cycle of plant life, from roots to fruit:
- Ràdica (“root”), a deep, woody fragrance evoking the Corsican forest, moss, damp earth, and resinous woods;
- Fronda (“leaf”), a fresh, botanical scent inspired by the maquis, blending green leaves, thyme, sage, and white woods;
- Fiore (“flower”), a luminous floral fragrance combining bergamot, white flowers, acacia, and honeyed notes;
- Fruttu (“fruit”), a sunny, fruity composition centered on berries, grapefruit, grapes, honey, raspberry, and musk.
These creations allow you to experience different olfactory worlds inspired by Corsican nature right in your home: scents of the maquis, woods and undergrowth, spring flowers, ripe fruits, and gourmand accords. Each fragrance thus has its own distinct identity, ranging from fresh, botanical compositions to warmer, woody, or sweet scents.
Scented candles
La Savonnerie du Nebbiu also offers scented candles created in collaboration with Alis Créations, another company based in Patrimonio. This partnership between two local artisans has produced candles with surprising scents, designed to fill your home with warm and pleasant aromas.
Sizes for hotels, spas, and retailers
La Savonnerie du Nebbiu offers hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, spas, and retailers solid and liquid soaps, shampoos, body lotions, and skincare products in a variety of sizes. Some products are available in small sizes, in bulk by the liter, or in sizes suitable for guest use.
Products can also be customized with an establishment's name or colors, depending on the quantities, formats, and terms agreed upon with the soap maker.
