Natural Corsican Soap

Laetitia Straforelli has been producing soap in all its forms for 15 years, with a wide variety of colors and natural scents. Her initial profession as a landscape designer, in contact with plants, led her to essential oils and, more specifically, to soap making.

A family business

Spending much of her time in her laboratory in Patrimonio, Laetitia is assisted by her husband Philippe and their children. Baptiste is in charge of production, while Lucie attended a business school in Nice and is responsible for the brand's development on the island and the mainland, with the help of Waniss, who joined the company as a work-study student.

As a member of the ADNS Association of New Soap Makers, the Nebbiu Soapery welcomes you to its shop in the heart of Patrimonio's vineyards, where you will discover the universe of this family business that creates and produces its soaps from A to Z.

Guided tour on Thursdays

In collaboration with a travel agency, the Nebbiu Soapery welcomes groups of people for a guided tour around soap making on Thursday afternoons, in a moment of discovery, exchange, and advice.

Cold Saponification - Ideal for your skin

Saponification is the chemical process by which soap is obtained. Cold saponification means that vegetable oils are not heated, leaving more vegetable glycerin in the soap, which is beneficial for the skin that could be irritated by detergent and its excessively alkaline pH, according to the article the essentials of Julien. After cold saponification, the soap must be dried for a minimum of 4 weeks, unlike hot saponification, which allows immediate use.

Organic Essential Oils

The soaps from the Nebbiu Soapery are made using a cold saponification process that allows the soap to retain all the virtues of the organic essential oils and butters used. Moreover, this produces a very gentle product for the skin, non-irritating, and more environmentally friendly.

Corsican soap making

Soap making involves several steps, the first of which is mixing butters, oils, and natural colorants like algae or henna, which are in powder form. After 3 days, the soap is unmolded, sliced, and left to dry for 4 to 6 weeks. Each soap has its unique features, shape, scent, marbling, color, and decoration.

Second shop in Lucciana, airport road

At the end of 2022, the Nebbiu Soapery opened a second shop located on the airport road in Lucciana. This second store, located near Bastia, complements the historic shop in Patrimonio.

You will find all the products of the Nebbiu Soapery: artisanal soaps, liquid soaps, refills, shaving soap, household soap, as well as all the accessories (copper or luffa sponges, bath flowers, brushes, pumice stones).

Corsican Natural Liquid Soap

In 2015, Laëtitia underwent training on liquid soap production on the mainland. Since then, Nebbiu Soap Factory has been offering natural liquid soap made from potassium-based olive oil, coconut, glycerin, and citric acid to neutralize the mixture. It is available in myrtle, cistus, everlasting flower, fig, and black pepper scents, and comes in 3 different sizes: 30 ml (hotel range), 100 ml, 200 ml, and 500 ml.

100% Natural, free of sulfates, parabens, palm oil, and SLS

Not to be confused with shower gel, Nebbiu Soap Factory's liquid soap is 100% natural, free of synthetic products, sulfates, parabens, palm oil, and unlike industrial shower gels, it leaves no film on the skin after rinsing. Furthermore, the liquid soap is 100% eco-friendly, leaving no trace in nature, unlike shower gel.

Refills for less plastic

Nebbiu Soap Factory in Patrimonio and Lucciana offers to refill your empty soap bottles to avoid the cost of new plastic packaging and for the sake of the environment. To facilitate this, 500 ml bottles will be provided, allowing you to refill your liquid soap bottles several times in your bathroom or kitchen.

Facial Care Soaps

Makeup Remover Soap

This soap provides gentle and moisturizing care thanks to apricot oil and shea butter, while hazelnut oil offers antioxidant properties. Grape seed oil contributes a regenerating effect.

Organic Immortelle essential oil provides anti-wrinkle and regenerating care, while Ylang-Ylang essential oil has anti-stress and relaxing properties. Grapefruit essential oil is also antioxidant. The bonus that makes this soap remineralizing comes from bamboo powder.

Sea Salt Soap for Acne

Another new addition to the soap factory is sea salt soap, recommended for acne and blackhead issues, to be used daily or once every two days depending on your needs. Its drying and exfoliating effects help to naturally combat acne.

Cold saponified soap well suited for oily skin, especially during adolescence.

Shaving Soap for Men

The shaving soap is formulated to be suitable for shaving, with more avocado and castor oils for their moisturizing properties to achieve soft skin, as well as shea butter and white clay to soothe razor burn, and lavender and geranium for healing in ase of small cuts. The soap can be used with a shaving brush or applied directly to the skin for a smooth and comfortable shave.

Organic Donkey Milk Soap

Donkey milk soap has been recognized since ancient times and is particularly interesting for dry skin due to its rehydrating and repairing effects. It is also recommended for eczema. La Nebbiu Soap Factory uses certified organic donkey milk for this soap, which you will find in both bar and liquid form.

Sheep Milk Soap

Sheep milk soap is highly protein-rich, similar to donkey milk soap. It is the colostrum (first milk) that is used, which has a high concentration of proteins and is not used in cheese production. It comes from a sheep farm right next to the soap factory in Patrimonio, making it both natural and ethical.

Shampoo & Conditioner

For your hair, La Nebbiu Soap Factory has composed a shampoo (for hair and body) and a conditioner with immortelle and sweet almond.

SPA Range

Body & Face Oil

The dry face oil provides a hydrating and regenerating effect without leaving a greasy film on the skin. It is composed of five vegetable oils: jojoba and hazelnut (antioxidant and penetrating), grape seed and evening primrose (regenerating, maintaining skin elasticity), as well as nourishing and moisturizing apricot kernel oil, and also Vitamin E.

Exfoliating Black Soap & Traditional Black Soap

The benefits of traditional black soap for the skin are well known. Originating from Oriental know-how, discover 100% natural soaps made in Corsica. It is recommended to take a hot shower before using the traditional black soap, leave it on for 10 minutes, then scrub with a Hammam glove and rinse with lukewarm water.

Also, discover the exfoliating black soap to apply on the face after opening the pores with a hot towel or steam from a pot of hot water covered with a towel.

Household Soap

In 2021, a new household soap was released, made from cutting scraps and specifically without glycerin, similar to Marseille soap. This household soap has been tested on boats by the Nacomed association. It can be used on all types of household surfaces in kitchens, bathrooms, and floors.

Hand Sanitizer

This hand sanitizer was designed to be natural and gentle so that it can be used several times a day without being too aggressive on the skin. It dries very quickly on the skin without sticking. Its antibacterial action comes from its composition of 75% 97-degree alcohol and tea tree and peppermint essential oils.

The thickening effect comes from a natural thickener, xanthan gum, which makes the gel less thick than petrochemical gels.

Available in 50ml, 200ml, 500ml, or 1-liter formats for professionals.

For hotels, the Nebbiu Soap Factory offers its new liquid shampoo, conditioning balm, Immortelle and almond body milk, as well as liquid and solid soap available in several formats, retail or in bulk for professionals.

The Savonnerie offers all its resellers the possibility to customize their soap with the name of their establishment, especially for hotels.

Thus, you can find traditional soaps with various essential oils and vegetable materials: Cinnamon and poppy seeds, Rosemary, Pine, Tradition with flower inlays like rose or dried fruits, Patissavonneries, Choco soap, Peach, Mimosa, Neroli - Orange Blossom (anti-stress), Honey - Cocoa husks, Peppermint - dried mint leaves, Verbena with coconut milk and grated coconut.

Upcoming Projects

The boutique of the Savonnerie has been expanded, and Laetitia's medium-term goal is to cultivate her own plants to create her own 100% homemade essential oils. The region is conducive to the cultivation of plants such as Myrtle, as evidenced by the location of the shop "Lieu-dit Morta Majo," which means "Great Myrtle" in Corsican.

Another idea is to launch a 100% wine-based soap and care product line, that is, to create a range with grape seed oil, using only regional products.

Internationalization of the brand

The Nebbiu Soap Factory aims to expand beyond national borders, targeting the European and global markets, particularly in the United Kingdom and Canada, where the country is renowned for cold-process saponification.

Waniss, who is completing a work-study program at the Savonnerie for a year and a half, has been entrusted with the mission of securing these new markets.
