A traditional Corsican soap factory in the heart of Nebbiu

A family adventure born of plants

Based in Patrimonio, Laëtitia Straforelli has been making natural soaps for over 17 years. A former landscaper with a passion for aromatic plants, she turned to cold saponification to create products that are gentle, ecological and rich in benefits. Each recipe is designed to make the most of Corsican resources while respecting the skin.

A committed team

La Savonnerie du Nebbiu is a family adventure. Philippe, her husband, accompanies her on a daily basis. Baptiste is in charge of production, while Lucie, a business school graduate, develops the brand on the island and on the mainland. Christine manages order preparation, Waniss is on a work-study program, and another member of staff is involved in cutting and packaging.

Two boutiques, one expertise

The historic boutique is located in Patrimonio, in the heart of the vineyards. In 2022, a second boutique opened in Lucciana, on the road to the airport. All the brand's products can now be found within easy reach of Bastia.

Natural soaps, gentle on the skin and respectful of nature

Cold saponification, a virtuous process

Cold saponification preserves the natural glycerine and the beneficial properties of the oils. Unlike heated industrial soaps, this gentle method produces a soap suitable for sensitive skin, even that of babies.

Organic, local and traceable ingredients

The soap factory favors short circuits and natural Corsican ingredients: immortelle, myrtle, rockrose, olive oil and ewe's milk. No synthetic components or palm oil. Each ingredient is selected for its quality and traceability.

An eco-responsible approach

Recyclable packaging, refillable bottles, local manufacturing and membership of ADNS: environmental commitment is at the heart of the soap factory.

Organic essential oils

Savonnerie du Nebbiu soaps are made using a cold saponification process that preserves all the virtues of the organic essential oils and butters used. What's more, the result is a product that's gentle on the skin, non-irritating and more respectful of the environment.

How Corsican soap is made

Soap-making involves a number of stages, the first of which consists of mixing butters, oils and natural colorants such as seaweed or henna in powder form. After 3 days, the soap is unmolded, sliced and left to dry for 4 to 6 weeks. Each soap has its own unique shape, scent, marbling, color and decoration.

Second boutique in Lucciana, route de l'aéroport

At the end of 2022, Savonnerie du Nebbiu opened a second boutique on route de l'aéroport in Lucciana.

This is the second store to open in the greater Bastia area, in addition to the historic store in Patrimonio.

You'll find the full range of Savonnerie du Nebbiu products: handmade soaps, liquid soaps, refills, beard soap, household soap, as well as all the accessories (copper or loofah sponges, bath flowers, brushes, pumice stones).

You'll also find essential oils and hydrolats from the Mimalodrina distillery.

Corsican natural liquid soap

In 2015, Laëtitia received training in liquid soap-making on the mainland. Since then, the Savonnerie du Nebbiu also offers natural liquid soap made from olive oil potash, coconut oil, glycerine and citric acid to neutralize it all. Available in myrtle, cistus, immortelle, fig and black pepper scents in 3 different formats: 30 ml (hotel range), 100 ml, 200 ml and 500 ml.

100% natural, sulfate-, paraben-, palm-oil- and SLS-free.

Not to be confused with shower gel, liquid soap from the savonnerie du Nebbiu is 100% natural, with no synthetic products, no sulfates, no parabens, no palm oil, and unlike industrial shower gel, no film remains on the skin after rinsing. What's more, unlike shower gel, liquid soap is 100% eco-friendly, leaving no trace in nature.

Which liquid soap should I choose?

• Fig, black pepper : A moisturizing soap with a sweet, pungent scent.
• Citron: For a fresh, invigorating scent.
• Immortelle: Very mild soap, ideal for daily hand cleansing
• Myrte Ciste: Very mild, ideal for daily hand cleansing and body care.

Refills for less plastic

The Savonnerie du Nebbiu in both Patrimonio and Lucciana offers you the opportunity to refill your empty soap bottles, to avoid the cost of new plastic packaging and for the good of the environment.

We'll give you 500ml bottles so you can refill your liquid soap bottles several times in your bathroom or kitchen.

Facial care soaps

Cleansing soap

Gentle, moisturizing soap with apricot oil and shea butter, and antioxidant hazelnut oil. Grapeseed oil provides a regenerating effect.

Organic Immortelle essential oil provides anti-wrinkle and regenerating care, while Ylang-Ylang essential oil has anti-stress and relaxing properties. Grapefruit essential oil is an antioxidant. A little bonus to make this soap remineralizing comes from Bamboo powder.

Acne-fighting sea salt soap

Another new product from the soap factory is sea salt soap, recommended for acne and blackhead problems, to be used daily or once every two days, depending on your needs. Its drying and exfoliating properties help fight acne naturally.

Cold-saponified soap well-suited to oily skin, especially in adolescence.

Shaving soap for men

Beard soap is formulated to suit shaving with avocado and castor oils with moisturizing properties for soft skin, as well as shea butter and white clay to soothe razor burn, and lavender and geranium to heal cuts.

Beard soap is designed for all men to soften and wash your beard. Natural foaming soap with organic vegetable oils (avocado, coconut, castor).

Organic donkey milk soap

Donkey's milk soap has been recognized since ancient times, and is particularly beneficial for dry skin thanks to its rehydrating and repairing action. It is also recommended for eczema. Savonnerie du Nebbiu uses certified organic donkey's milk for this soap, which is available as a normal soap or a liquid soap.

Sheep's milk soap

Sheep's milk soap has a high protein content, rather like donkey's milk soap. It uses colostrum (first milk), hence its high protein concentration, which is not used in cheese-making. It comes from a sheep farm right next to the soap factory in Patrimonio, being both natural and ethical.

Shampoo and Conditioner

For your hair, Savonnerie du Nebbiu has created a shampoo (hair and body) and a conditioner with immortelle and sweet almond.

SPA range

Body & Face Oil

Dry face oil moisturizes and regenerates, without leaving a greasy film on the skin. It is composed of five vegetable oils: jojoba and hazelnut (antioxidant and penetrating), regenerating grape seed and evening primrose oils (maintain skin elasticity), nourishing and moisturizing apricot kernel oil and Vitamin E.

Exfoliating Black Soap & Traditional Black Soap

The skin-care benefits of traditional black soap are well known. Stemming from oriental know-how, discover 100% natural soaps made in Corsica. We recommend taking a hot shower before soaping with traditional black soap and leaving for 10 minutes, before rubbing with a Hammam glove and rinsing with lukewarm water.

You can also discover a scrubbing black soap to be applied to the face after opening the pores with a hot line or steam over a pan of hot water surrounded by a towel.

Room fragrance

Since 2023, Savonnerie du Nebbiu has also been selling 4 home fragrances symbolizing the 4 seasons, to naturally perfume your home.

"Veranu" unfurls an array of spring floral notes, patchouli and Corsican clementine, reminiscent of a morning breeze of fresh linen. "Vaghjime" represents the essence of autumn, marrying spices with amber and cedar, and finally, "Invernu" envelops winter in the gourmand aromas of vanilla and caramel, like a comforting sweetness.

Household soap

2021 saw the launch of a new household soap made from off-cuts, with the distinctive feature of being glycerin-free like Marseille soap. This cleaning soap has been tested on boats by the nacomed association. It can be used on all types of household surfaces, from kitchens and bathrooms to floors.

Hydroalcoholic gel

This hydroalcoholic gel has been designed to be natural and gentle, so it can be used several times a day without being too harsh on the skin. It dries very quickly on the skin without sticking. Its anti-bacterial action comes from its composition of 75% 97-degree alcohol and essential oils of Tea Tree and peppermint.

The gelling effect comes from a natural thickener, xanthan gum, which makes the gel thinner than petrochemical gels.

Available in 50ml, 200ml, 500ml, or by the liter for professionals.

These Corsican soaps are made with 100% natural essential oils and vegetable butters, using island products such as Corsican sheep's milk, Myrtle, Honey, Cistus,Immortelle, Petit Grain, citrus oil... and for other products such as shea butter and argan oil, Laetitia makes it a point of honor to ensure the impeccable traceability of all her raw materials.

For hotels, Savonnerie du Nebbiu offers its new liquid shampoos, conditioning balms, Immortelle and almond-scented body lotions, as well as liquid and solid soaps, available in a range of formats, retail or in bulk for professionals.

La Savonnerie offers all its retailers the possibility of personalizing their soap with the name of their establishment, particularly for hotels.

You'll find old-fashioned soaps with various essential oils and plant materials: Cinnamon and poppy seed, Rosemary, Pine, Tradition with inlays of flowers such as rose or dried fruit, Patissavonneries, Choco soap, Peach, Mimosa, Neroli - Orange blossom (anti-stress), Honey - Cocoa pods, Peppermint - dried mint leaves, Verbena with Coconut milk and grated coconut.

Working with the German brand Croll et Denecke, you'll find several accessories for your bathroom: soap dishes, natural sponges, shower flowers, brushes...

The Savonnerie du Nebbiu takes part in a number of trade fairs, including Milan, the Déco et Boutique show in Nice, the Maison et Objet show in Paris, and the Salon du Bisous in Nice run by Lucie and Baptiste.

Laëtitia's soaps can also be found at the Patrimonio market, held every first Saturday of the month on the site of the Maison des vins.

Expansion of the Patrimonio soap factory

The Savonnerie boutique will be expanded in 2025, with one floor dedicated to the boutique, while the first floor will now be reserved for manufacturing only.

Another project for the future is the cultivation of local plants to produce the company's own 100% homemade essential oils, in particular Myrte, which perfectly illustrates the locality where the boutique is located: "Morta Majo", "Grande Myrte" in Corsica.

The idea would also be to launch a 100% winegrowing soap and skincare range, i.e. to create a range with grape seed oil, using only regional products.
