Situated in a natural setting 4 km from the beaches, the Casa Albina estate in Patrimonio is classified as a 3-star wine tourism establishment by Gîtes de France and is also Logis-Vert-Corse approved for its eco-responsible ethos. Casa Albina has 4 self-catering 3-star gîtes, set in one hectare of gardens on the banks of the river, in a farmhouse built entirely of stone, wood and wrought iron. The accommodation is fully equipped, quiet and available all year round.

A meeting of culture and nature

The story of the Casa Albina estate began in 2003 under the impetus of Barbara Andreani, a former nurse and co-conceiver of the Logis Vert Corse label, and her husband Christian Andreani, President of the San Martinu Corsica Cultural Centre, currently President of the European network of Saint Martin Cultural Centres and the driving force behind the project to bring the Saint Martin pilgrimage to Corsica, a Via Sancti Martini, in Corsica A Via San Martinu, of which the " Festivale d'Autunnu di a Ruralità " festival is an offshoot. Christian Andreani is also a singer and musician in the group Caramusa.

Nature integrated into the site

Nature retains its rights on the site, which hosts projects ranging from cultural to heritage and ecological. The estate is located on the edge of the vineyards and the village of Patrimonio, just past the post office and San Martinu church, 1.5 km from the village centre, 4 km from the beaches and 5 km from Saint-Florent.

One hectare of enclosed parkland bordered by the river

The site is set in a hectare of parkland with trees and flowers, a permaculture vegetable garden and a chicken coop.

Below, the land is bordered by the river of the same name, the Albinu, topped by its Genoese bridge. The river can be accessed directly from the estate via a gate, or via another gate leading to the Genoese bridge.

Barbara and Christian like to share their philosophy of life with their guests, the art of living in a short circuit, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature in a place that invites you to discover and stroll around, on sun loungers or in the shade of centuries-old trees.

Four independent gîtes (with wifi)

The Casa Albina estate has 4 self-catering cottages, two of which are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Each has a view of the countryside from every window. One of them has three furnished terraces.

The accommodation comprises two two-bedroom apartments, Acetula and Levente, measuring 34 and 37 m2, a Regina three-bedroom apartment measuring 54 m2 and the Ponente house, a four-bedroom apartment measuring 74 m2, for a total capacity of 14 people under the 3-star rating, plus a spacious annex bedroom measuring 17 m2.

The Casa Albina accommodation is equipped with washing machine, television, fully-equipped kitchens with fridge/freezer, refurbished in the old style with thick stone walls and wrought iron pergolas that keep the temperature very good in both summer and winter.

Casa Albina also offers, at an additional cost, a local breakfast featuring seasonal farm produce from the orchard, garden or local produce, as well as homemade compositions. If you wish, you can have the dishes delivered to your gîte and take part in a Corsican evening for 14 people or more.

Mountain bike hire

If you like cycling, you can take advantage of several mountain bikes available free of charge, as well as electric bikes which can be hired with a deposit.

Harmony with nature

On the estate, ecology is not just a fad but the fruit of an early awareness of the need to change our way of life and live in harmony with nature.

The choice of exposed stone walls, a solar-powered gate, plants and trees that are omnipresent right down to the driveways, as well as a henhouse and a permaculture garden that reduces human intervention and produces more with fewer resources, using natural techniques such as mulching, plant associations and composting to nourish the earth.

Here, we also opt for recycling to give a second life to objects and furniture in a harmonious way. So many good practices that are simple to implement and contribute to the uniqueness of the place.

Hiking trails

Nearby, you can take the coastal path as far as the Olzo campsite, or the heritage trail that starts below the Church of San Martinu. Barbara will be able to give you more details about these escapades in the region.

Agora Casa Albina : Multi-purpose space for hire

Converted in 2020 from one of the wrought-iron pergolas using circular economy criteria, "L'Agora" is a covered space that is set to evolve into an energy-neutral bioclimatic veranda. "The Agora can be used for meetings, seminars and other events. With a surface area of 50 m², this space combines modern and ancient architecture, and is equipped with a wood-burning oven and a large barbecue (with a kitchen, fridge and freezer attached). The roof structure is made from original wrought iron, covered in pine and zinc, and insulated with cellular wadding. These materials, along with the architecture of the building, allow the light to flood in and capture the heat in winter, while being naturally cooled in summer.

"L'Agora" can be rented with or without its kitchen, by the evening, the day, the week, if the estate is privatised, or by the month, depending on availability.
