Corsican organic wine and AOC Ajaccio

16 years ago, in a bid to fulfil an old dream, Laurent Costa took over the A Peraccia estate under the expert guidance of Jean Sandamiani. The winery is indicated by a sign on a black background on the edge of the RT20, 15 minutes from Ajaccio on the road to Bastia. At the end of the dirt track that runs alongside the vines is the shop, open all year round, where you can taste and buy this organic Corsican wine direct, or by mail order.

A Peraccia wines are labelled Ajaccio PDO wine and Corsican organic wine from the vine to the grapes right through to bottling.

Vineyards on the Peri plain

Open all year round, the A Peraccia estate is located on the Peri plain - one of the sunniest regions on the island - where the vineyard enjoys a privileged position on 11 hectares of land in production.

Organic grapes - Natural weed control

The vineyard is farmed organically and uses natural techniques. One of these consists of planting rose bushes at the beginning of the rows, as they contract certain diseases or fungi such as powdery mildew before the vines. This makes it possible to detect and anticipate the arrival of a disease beforehand, so as to be able to intervene.

In keeping with the same philosophy, to weed around the vines, the organic winegrower works with a shepherdess whose sheep come and eat the grass under the vines in the vineyard during the winter, while at the same time fertilising the soil. A winning bet.

Direct sales on the estate (CB) and in supermarkets

A Peraccia wine is sold directly from the estate shop, which is next to the cellar. You can also buy wine in the shop by credit card.

Wine tasting with a sommelier

With a room specially dedicated to this type of event, Laurent Costa organises seminars at Domaine A Peraccia for up to fifty people, such as the 17 mail 2022, wine tastings by prior arrangement and aperitif dinners. In groups of 10 to 15 people, you will be accompanied by a sommelier who will introduce you to the world of the estate's fruity wines and other spirits. Chocolate tastings are also organised at Domaine A Peraccia, with dates for future sessions available from the Ajaccio tourist office.

Working alone, with the help of seasonal workers for the harvest, Laurent Costa doesn't count the hours he spends on the farm. Driven by a passion for his profession and a sense of a job well done, his aim is to produce a product of excellence. This personal commitment demands rigour and discipline, values that are familiar to this trained soldier.

Timetable

The shop is open from Monday to Saturday in summer and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in winter at the times shown at the bottom of the page.

Limoncello and Myrtle A Peraccia Liqueur

Since 2019, Laurent Costa has been selling his Limoncello A Peraccia and fruity Myrtle liqueur made with marc brandy and packaged in 50cl bottles.

The estate's shop also sells Muscat A Peraccia, a natural sweet wine.

Discovery trail - Art and wine

An art lover, Laurent Costa wants to set up ephemeral itineraries where you can discover, admire and contemplate works of art at the turn of a vineyard.

Having switched from the army to the vineyards, Laurent Costa decided to return to the land more than a decade ago. He has always been interested in farming, and first appeared in 2011 in an article in Le Point - Laurent Costa Domaine A Peraccia, and more recently in 2022 in an RCFM article and video. It was in 2008 that he seized the opportunity to take over the family domaine A Peraccia, with his predecessor teaching him the ropes of the winegrowing trade. Laurent Costa took over the A Peraccia estate with the challenge of preserving the fruity wine that is so popular in the region.
