Activities

The Wine Region

Patrimonio is a village of 772 inhabitants that symbolizes an entire wine region through the renown of its wine. Located on the west coast at the beginning of Cap Corse, the region is bathed in sunlight and benefits from a clay soil.

Patrimonio AOP Wine

Vines of Patrimonio

Dominated by Mont Sant'Angelo, standing at 354 meters high, the Patrimonio region includes the municipalities of the Conca d'Oro plain (Oletta, Poggio-d'Oletta, Saint-Florent, Barbaggio, Farinole, and Santo Pietro di Tenda). The clay and limestone soil is bathed in sunlight for much of the year.

In 2018, the Patrimonio wine celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Patrimonio AOP wine label. The winemakers associated with the designation are committed to eliminating glyphosate from their cultivation practices.

The grape varieties include Vermentinu, Niellucciu, Grenache, and Sciaccarello.

Religious Monuments

Saint Martin Church (San Martinu)

Saint Martin Church

The San Martinu Church in Patrimoniu has been classified as a historical monument since 1939. It can be accessed at the intersection of La Poste. In Baroque style, the Saint Martin Church is approximately 30 meters long and 16 meters wide.

Patron Saint of Patrimonio

Saint Martin is also the patron saint of Patrimonio, with his feast celebrated on November 11. Each year, a religious ceremony takes place with the traditional procession led by the Cunfraterna di San Martinu, followed by a welcome of the new wine organized by the region's winemakers. It is an opportunity to raise glasses in a tasting that gathers thousands of people every year.
